About the project
Scope of work
- Hand excavation
- Temporary shoring
- Sequential underpinning
- New footing sections
- Structural monitoring
Some excavation you do with a 20-ton machine. Some you do with a shovel, a plan, and a lot of patience. Here we removed material by hand to shore up and underpin an existing foundation — sequenced in small sections so the structure above never knew we were there.
Underpinning is the highest-stakes work we do: it demands engineering, careful shoring, and crews who understand exactly why the sequence matters. It's also where experience shows the most.
